New Zealand is an island country in the South Pacific, southwest of Australia. Its north Island is surrounded by stunning seascapes with spectacular views and remarkable wildlife nearly everywhere you look. Among the island’s premier destinations is the Bay of Plenty, a remarkable region with pristine water in flowing shades of blue and green, tranquil sandy beaches, and spectacular rocky coastlines where nature remains as it was a thousand years ago.

New Zealand’s first inhabitants were Polynesians who settled there less than a millennium ago. Over the next five hundred years the Māori culture developed and thrived in this beautiful region.

In the eighteenth-century Captain James Cook named the Northeast bight on the North Island the Bay of Plenty due to its fertile cultivated land.

If you ever find yourself on New Zealand’s North Island, we highly recommend visiting the Bay of Plenty.  It’s natural beauty and tranquility are sure to leave you in a better place.
